April 17th we had our annual Wood Kiln opening! We fired our smaller ground hog kiln which took 12, instead of 9, hours of constantly stoking wood into the firebox. The mix of environmental elements beyond our control make this process intriguing, and conect us with our heritage and the potters who fired this way hundreds of years ago.The results were well worth the effort.
